The best ultrasonic fabric & film processing techniques
for your operation depend on your overall requirements. The four most common fabric and film processing techniques
are:
Plunge
The material is held stationary while the horn descends to make
contact. Typical plunge applications include straps, belts, buttonholes, and blister
packs.
Slitting
Dukane slitters simultaneously slit and seal fabric edges, which
prevents unraveling. Stitching wheels added to one or both sides of the slitting wheel
create an extra finish on the cut and sealed edges.
Narrow Gauge Slitting
Traversing
The material remains stationary while the ultrasonic horn and anvil
move across the fabric.
Rotary Drum
Two or more layers of material are continuously fed between the
vibrating horn and rotating drum. Patterns can be machined on the drum to provide a
variety of different stitch patterns and looks.
