What is Spin Welding?

Dukane spin welders work with most thermoplastics, will accommodate large diameter parts, and easily achieve hermetic seals. Dukane's spin welders provide precise control of the melt temperature and contain the ability to weld large, complex parts. The result: excellent weld strength and hermetic seals every time.

The most efficient method of joining circular parts is spin welding (Frictional Rotational process) which provides strong hermetically sealed bond. Dukane spin welders will accommodate joint diameter ranging from .5” (12 mm) to 7” (180 mm), and application dependent joint diameters up to 12” (304 mm). Dukane's spin welders provide precise control of the melt temperature utilizing Melt Match technology. Melt Match technology uses a constant torque welding mode in which the welder automatically adjust the Z-axis speed to match the melt rate of the material for a specified spin torque.
