Application Notes
For ULTRA Series Generators

These documents describe connector pin assignments and signal functions for various connectors on Dukane 15 kHz, 20 kHz and 40kHz ULTRA series generators.

AN100

J20 Operational Control Connector
Lists the connector pin assignments and the signal functions of the generator rear panel Operational Control connector J20.

AN101

Operational Control Input
Describes the pins used on connector J20 to activate the generator ultrasound output with an external, user-supplied switch.  Two example circuit connection diagrams are included.

AN102

Isolated Voltage - Activated Operate Input
Describes the pins used on connector J20 to activate the generator ultrasound output with a user-supplied, external voltage source incorporated into an automation controller, such as a programmable logic controller (PLC).  A circuit connection diagram is included.

AN103

Status Driver Output
Describes how the pins on connector J20 are used to monitor the operating status of the generator with the Status Relay Output.  Included are descriptions of the user-programmable jumper block selection options on the Driver Board assembly.  A circuit connection diagram is included showing how this output is used.

AN104

Status Relay Output
Describes how the pins on connector J23 are used to monitor the operating status of the generator with the Status Relay Output.  Included are descriptions of the user programmable jumper block selection options on the generator Driver Board assembly.   A circuit connection diagram is included showing how this output is used.

AN105

Selectable Soft-Start Ramp Time for 20 kHz Systems
Describes the user-programmable jumper block selection options available on the generator Driver Board. The user can select one of four soft-start ramp times to optimize the welding process.

AN106

Selectable Soft-Start Ramp Time for 40 kHz Systems
Describes the user-programmable jumper block selection options available on the generator Driver Board. The user can select one of four soft-start ramp times to optimize the welding process.

AN107

Ultrasonic Power Measurement
Describes Dukane's three methods to measure or monitor the ultrasonic power output from a generator.

AN108

Operating Frequency Measurement
Describes how to use the Buffered Transducer Feedback signal on connector J20 to measure or monitor the ultrasound frequency.

AN109

Isolated Remote Power Control
Describes the connections and equipment required to control this circuit board option.  With this option, the generator power output can then be adjusted from a remotely located automation control system.  A circuit connection diagram is included.
